The Notso Macho is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series.
Introduced in Dragon Quest VII, it is an obese, yellow humanoid armed with a sword and savage expression.
Characteristics
Notso machos are rather fat Humanoid creatures with yellow skin, albeit the green tops of their heads and 'ears', and black eyes with red irises. They are constantly slack-jawed with tongue lolling out and wear metal bands around their wrists and ankles. Their weapon of choice is a very large single-edged sword, which they constantly have at the ready to draw.
While intelligence may be the last word one would attach to these creatures, they are far more versatile than their appearances would let on. Already boasting impressive Attack power, notso machos can typically bolster this with Oomph to make themselves an even greater threat. Their entire bodies shake as they cast their spells.
A recurring animation of the Notso macho is when it swings its sword with too much strength, causing itself to pivot around and visibly fall back on its rear-end.

Etymology
Notso macho's name is meant to be interpreted as 'not so macho'. 'Macho' is a term adopted from the Spanish word for 'male' used to characterize something that is manly, either in appearance or demeanor. While these monsters' mannerisms may be befitting the word, their blubbery bodies certainly aren't.
Notso macho's original Japanese, danbiramucho, is a combination of the word 'danbira', a type of Japanese broadsword similar to the ones the monsters carry and the word 'mucho', a Spanish word which means a lot, possibly referring to their excess fat on their bodies.
Trivia
Notso macho are one of the few monsters, alongside the Cyclops family, that are shown to be left-handed.
