The Chimaera is a beginner monster class in Dragon Quest VII.
Description[edit]
The Chimaera is a mix between a vulture and a tubby snake. The class offers a slight increase in agility and wisdom but slight drops in all other categories. The class learns many fire based attacks, owing to the species' history as spitfires, and at rank 8 it will provide a weak resistance to Frizz, Sizz, Bang, Drain Magic, and a strong resistance to all other status ailments.
- The Chimaera grants a higher evasion rate that human classes, being calculated as rank 1 = 1/64, 2 = 1/64, 3 = 1/16, 4 = 1/16, 5 = 1/8, 6 = 1/8, 7 = 1/8, 8 = 5/32.
Monster Heart[edit]
A chimaera Heart can be found in the Sanctum of the Cirrus, outside of Aeolus Vale in the past. It can also be dropped by Chimaera in Al-Balad, or won in the Lucky Panel game in the casino.
