The Goddess Ring is a recurring accessory in the Dragon Quest series which first appeared in the Super Famicom remake of Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation.
It generally increases Wisdom by a large number, as well as allowing the wearer to recover MP on the overworld by walking (similar to the Happy Hat).
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation (remakes only)[edit]
A Goddess ring can be sold for 12,750 gold coins. It has a Defense bonus of +22 (except in the Nintendo Switch release), increases Wisdom by 33 points, and restore 1 MP for every four steps walked when equipped. The Hero, Gadabouts, Mages, Martial Artists, Merchants, Priests, Thieves, Sages, and Warriors can equip it. The ring is found at the zenith of Cloudsgate Citadel, on the ground to the left of the dragon goddess Xenlon.
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen (remakes only)[edit]
The Goddess ring is an accessory that increases Wisdom by 33, and restores MP while walking. It can be equipped by Hero, Alena, Kiryl, Maya and Meena. It is of particular interest for the Hero, as unlike Kiryl, Maya and Meena he can't equip the Happy Hat, and unlike Alena, he can benefit from the increased Wisdom and MP recovery.
It can be found in Baron's Folly.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]
A Goddess ring can be sold for 8,500 gold coins, but not bought. It raises style by 40 points and Wisdom by 33. It recovers 1 MP for every 2 steps, making it superior to the Happy Hat in this game (which recovers 1 MP for every 4 steps). Maribel, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe can equip it.
One can be acquired from a treasure chest in Cave to Yet Another World. It also has a 1/256 chance of being dropped by an Emperor slime.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]
The Goddess ring provides a Wisdom boost of +20, and increases resistances to Fuddle, Paralysis, and Snooze. Restores MP while walking on the field. It can be created through alchemy by combining one ingot of Orichalcum with a Recovery ring, and can be sold for 25,000 gold coin.
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit]
Goddess rings can be sold for 6,250 gold coin but can't be bought. They can be created using the alchemy recipe of Life ring x 1 + Sainted soma x 1 + Gold bar x 1. They have a Magical Mending bonus of +15 and a three star rarity, while recovering the MP of whoever is equipping it as they walk. All classes can equip it. Its in game description is "A blessed band that brings back MP with every step."
