The Seasaur is an intermediate monster vocation in Dragon Quest VII.

Description[edit]

The Seasaur is a massive Elasmosaurus-like sea monster that feeds on sailors. This monster vocation offers a moderate increase to Strength and Max HP, with moderate to severe drops to all other categories. It has the ability to learn several powerful breath attacks.

Upon mastering the vocation, characters will receive a weak resistance to fire breath, ice breath, and Sap, as well as a strong resistance to Woosh and all other status ailments aside from poison, which they become immune to. Mastering the vocation is required in order to become a Galumph.

Requirements[edit]

To become a Seasaur, a character needs to master the Notso Macho, Lips, and Jawtoise vocations first or have a monster heart in their inventory when going to Alltrades Abbey to change their vocation. A Seasaur heart can also be obtained in battle by fighting the monsters in the Ocean near Alltrades Abbey after the Demon King's resurrection, the Whitewater Cave area of the Cathedral of Blight accessible with the Water Amulet, or the water area of Cave to Yet Another World. However, seasaurs only have a 11024 chance of dropping their heart after battle.

  • In the Nintendo 3DS version, it is also possible to acquire a Seasaur heart by creating a custom Traveller's Tablet with a Seasaur as the boss.
