The Lunatick is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in the original game. It is a bizarre monocular monster that floats in midair with the aid of its many tentacles.
Characteristics[edit]
Like some horrifying nightmare from the depths, the Lunatick is hardly anything more than an eye, a pair of antennae, and a bunch of tentacles attached to a purple carapace. The monster's singular eye is constantly turned to face the player. It has evolve in order to allow the lunatick to see clearly in the depths of dark dungeons. They float about in midair with their tentacles as though they are swimming. The lunatick later gained the ability to fire off a paralysing beam from their eye and disable opponents by tickling them with their tentacles. In most games, they are counted as Bugs, but later became members of the Demon family due to their unusual and nightmarish origins.
