Troubadour
An excellent singer, the bard can help with songs like Wakesong and Angelsong --Description in Dragon Quest VII.
The Troubadour (formerly bard) is one of the vocations exclusive to Dragon Quest VII.
Description
The troubadour is a helpful class that makes use of support skills in battle. Outside of battle, they know the spell Holy Protection, able to keep weaker monsters at bay. After mastering this class, the troubadour can become a Luminary provided they have also mastered the Dancer and Gadabout classes.

Usefulness
The Bard is quite frail and should be put in the back rows. Its only use is to make the Luminary and then a Summoner. It takes some time to make a summoner and so has to be started as soon the player clears Alltrades Abbey. However, the rewards are great.
The hybrid skills aren't particularly worth getting as there are similar skills that do the same thing.
