Holy Protection

From Dragon Quest Wiki

Holy Protection is a spell in the Dragon Quest series. It repels weaker enemies, checking the player's current level to calculate which enemies are kept at bay.

Regardless of which game is being played, the spell will last for exactly 128 steps.
