Megaheal is a spell introduced in Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2. It is the replacement for Fullheal in the Monsters spin offs after developer TOSE inc received player feedback from the original Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker and deemed that a spell capable of completely restoring a monster's HP right out of the gate was too overpowered and led to competitive matches dragging on for too long. Furthermore, the decision to introduce giant-sized monsters in Joker 2 with HP that goes beyond the traditional limit of 999 meant that Fullheal's power would lead to a complete mess on the competitive scene.
Megalheal was created as a compromise, being astoundingly curative but needing the caster's wisdom stat to be sky high to reach its maximum potential, and is thus vulnerable to losing potency if the caster is enfeebled with debuffs such as Dim.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2[edit]
It costs 9 MP and restores a minimum of 285~315 HP to a single ally, growing in power once the caster's wisdom surpasses 500. It can be learned from:
- Empyrea (31 points)
- Exorsus (23 points)
- Healer (75 points)
- Thornella (9 points)
- Über Healer (7 points)
Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D[edit]
Megalheal now costs 32 MP to cast.
Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key[edit]
Megaheal's MP cost has been nearly tripled to 90, and will restore 285~315 HP to a single ally. It will grow more potent when the caster's wisdom surpassed 500, reaching its zenith at 3,999 wisdom via buffs to restore 949~1048 HP.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3[edit]
Megaheal has the same properties as in the previous game.
