The Iron claw is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest series, being one of the most commonly appearing set of talons.

It is a low-to-mid-grade weapon and is often one of the first weapons that martial artists can use exclusively, upgrading them from fighting barehanded or relying on simple clubs. In some games, a claw is held in each hand, allowing the user to attack twice in a row with them.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit]

The Iron claw has an Attack bonus of +25 and can only be equipped by Martial Artists. It can be purchased at Khoryv for 870 gold coins.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit]

The Iron claw has an Attack bonus of +38 and can only be wielded by Alena and the 9th Chosen One. It can be purchased for 1,500 gold coins in Endor and sold for 1,125 gold coins.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride[edit]

The Iron claw has an Attack bonus of +30. It can only be wielded by Debora Briscoletti, Saber, and the Jailcat. It can be purchased for 550 gold coins. It is equipped by Saber when he rejoins the party as an adult.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit]

The Iron claw can be purchased for 700 gold coins in Amor, Port Haven, Wellshire, Somnia, and Scrimsley and sold for 525 gold coins. it has an Attack bonus of +21 and a Style bonus of +15. Carver, Amos, and Goowain can equip it. Silencing rams, Lesser demons, Jumping jackals and Grrrgoyles can drop them.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]

The Iron claw has an Attack bonus of +21 and a Style bonus of +15. It can only be equipped by Ruff. It can be purchased for 920 gold coins at Pilgrim's Perdition and sold for 460 gold coins. One can be found in the Automaton Stronghold in the present. Iron claws can also be won as prizes from the Lucky Panel at the Casino near Pilgrim's Rest.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]

The Iron claw has an Attack bonus of +55. It can only be equipped by Morrie and he joins the party with it equipped. It only appears in the Nintendo 3DS version of the game. The Iron claw can be upgraded into the Fire claw in the Alchemy Pot by combining it with a Flametang boomerang.

Dragon Quest X[edit]

The Iron claws have an Attack bonus of 8, a Style bonus of +3, increases the wielder's Weight by 2, and has an equipment level of 14. It can be equipped by Martial Artists, Thieves, and Monster Masters. In this game, the wielder is able to attack twice in a row with the claws.

  • In the Offline version of the game, they can be equipped by Mjoll.

Iron claws can be purchased for 1,150 gold coins on Domus Isle and Celeste Isle and can be sold for 575 gold coins. They have an Attack bonus of +19.

The Iron claws are Treasure No. 170 in the Weapons category and can be found on the Wingswept Moors. Their base value is 110,000 gold coins.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit]

The Iron claw is a C-rank claw that can be acquired as a reward for completing the Claws: Advanced level. It has an ATK bonus of +4, an AGL bonus of +6, and has two slots for Alchemy Effects. Debora can be seen wielding iron claws on both hands in her model.
