Throughout the games, this has included pieces such as dresses, bikinis, tiaras, lingerie, and even certain weapons such as the Siren sword. This equipment has typically offered various bonuses and special effects for female characters. While male-exclusive equipment always existed as well, many were either joke pieces of equipment or simply not as numerous as their female counterparts, although this began to change in later games in the series.

Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line[edit]

The first instance of female-exclusive equipment appeared in this entry, starting with the Scandalous swimsuit, which only appears in the MSX2 version of the game. It was essentially a gag piece of armor with a single measly point of defence and would display a picture of the Princess of Moonbrooke wearing the bikini.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit]
