CharacteristicsEdit
Like the restless armour, it is a mass of moving metal that has taken up its sword against humans, but is much more dangerous than its wandering counterpart. Formerly depicted as staunch lone wolves, they have learned to summon allies in battle like their contemporaries as of VIII, while even calling down lightning with their swords by driving them into the ground. According to their monster info in X and XI, those who don the cursed hate mail will have their minds and bodies taken over and forced to become servants of a Demon Lord, becoming infernal armours themselves.
The infernal armour's appearance has changed the most since its first appearance compared to the other suits, originally being silver suits of armour chased with gold and a blue plume on their helmets. For the Super Famicom version of III, the armour was changed to black with purple plumes on their helmets. In the Sony PlayStation version of IV, the plume was changed to light grey and it would maintain this colour scheme for its next few appearances. Starting with Dragon Quest X and most modern appearances, the infernal armour would go back to its original appearance, while the black and gold colour scheme would be used for the Schwarzchuld.
