The Metal king sword is a powerful sword in the Dragon Quest series. It is frequently one of the most powerful weapons in each game it appears in and also has the ability to guarantee 1 point of damage to metal slimes. It features an emblem of a metal king slime on its crossguard. Originally one copy of the sword was available to players in the games it appeared in, but with the introduction of the Alchemy system it has become the zenith of an upgrade chain that begins with the Metal slime sword and multiple units can be acquired.

The Metal king sword has an attack bonus of +130 and a style bonus of +40, and every character can equip it. The only place it can be found is floor five of Mortamor's Dreadlair. It can be sold for 7,500 gold.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]
The Metal king sword has an attack bonus of +130 and a style bonus of +40. It can be equipped by the Hero, Maribel, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe.
