The Harmour is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation. It is a two-toned demonic suit of armor wielding a wicked sharp halberd.
Characteristics
The Harmour is a demonic suit of armour. Depending on the game, it has appeared as a member of the Demon family or the Material family. It is a decent attacker and stronger versions of the Harmour can cast debilitating spells. Some variants are actually humans wearing heavy armour. These menacing multi-coloured armoured monsters march into battle with massive bladed halberds and evil skull embossed shields, designed to strike fear into their foes. Their suits of plate mail are split perfectly down the middle, colored red on the left and black on the right, and they have a pair of golden horns on their helmets. They are far more agile than they first appear, ready to leap into the air and lash out at all enemies in a single swiping dive. When a Harmour is defeated in the Nintendo 3DS version of VII, its armour can split in half, revealing it to be empty inside.

There is an optional scripted encounter with a harmour at Pilgrim's Perdition. When the party arrives, they can come across a soldier harassing a helpless priest in the town and can start a fight by answering no when the soldier tells them to leave. The harmour is no different than the ones that can be faced later in the game, but the battle can still be difficult since the party has lost access to their spells and abilities. If one took the time to get better equipment from the Casino at Pilgrim's Rest inn or uses a Snooze stick to repeatedly put him to sleep, the battle should be no trouble.
