Nevan, after obtaining the Magma staff (Dragon Quest)

The magma staff is a recurring Wand in the Dragon Quest series that was introduced in Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen.

The magma staff is a knobbly cane fashioned from magma rock and wood, with one end bearing the appearance of a volcano's crater with a faint red glow emanating from the center. The staff was a necessary acquisition required to progress past a certain point by using it to remove a roadblock in it's first two appearances, but it has since become a regular--albeit handy--weapon beginning with the sixth title. Depending on the game, it will damage all enemies with an explosion or wave of fire when used as a tool in battle.
