The Wellspring of the Hero is a dungeon located in northern Torland in Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line.

The Wellspring of the Hero is a required dungeon in order to find the Prince of Cannock. It is typically the first dungeon visited in the game. The Hero must speak with the old man near the lake in order to ascertain the whereabouts of the Prince of Cannock and continue his search. Purifying oneself at the spring before undergoing a journey is a tradition of Midenhall.
