Usefulness
The troubadour is quite frail and should be put in fourth position from the left. Its only use is to make the Luminary and then a Druid. It takes some time to become a Druid and so has to be started as soon the player clears Alltrades Abbey. However, the rewards are great. In the 3DS version, troubadours are able to learn Soothing Song naturally, which is a decent way to restore HP for free in battle.
The hybrid skills aren't particularly worth getting as there are similar skills that do the same thing.
