The iron broadsword is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest series. It was introduced as an intermediate in strength between the copper sword and the steel broadsword. In some games, the sword can be improved further.

Upgrades into steel broadsword when combined with an ingot of iron ore and a lava lump, as well as a platinum sword when combined with a piece of platinum ore and a Hephaestus' flame.

Dragon Quest X[edit]

The Iron broadsword has an Attack bonus of +17, a Style bonus of +3, increases the wielder's Weight by 3, and has an equipment level of 14. It can be equipped by Warriors, Gladiators, Paladins, Armamentalists, Fortune Tellers, Gadabouts, Demon Swordsmen, and Guardians.

  • In the Offline version of the game, it can be equipped by Hussar.

The Iron broadsword has an Attack bonus of +26 and can be equipped by Luceus, Aurora, and Terry. It can be purchased for 1,000 gold and sold for 500 gold.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End[edit]

In this game, the Iron broadsword has an Attack bonus of +21 and can be equipped by Lazarel and Teresa if they are a Warrior or Gladiator, as well as Terry. It can be purchased for 450 gold.

Dragon Quest Builders[edit]

The Iron broadsword has an Attack bonus of +26. It can be created at a sewing station. Rusty nuggets are required to make it.

Dragon Quest Builders 2[edit]

The Iron broadsword has an Attack bonus of +50. It can be crafted at an anvil. The recipe is learned at level 15 and requires 3 Iron ingots.

Dragon Quest Treasures[edit]

The Iron broadsword is Treasure No. 165 in the Weapons category and can be found on the Maneland. Its base value is 100,000 gold.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit]

The Iron broadsword is a C-rank sword that can be received as a reward for completing the Swords: Intermediate or Advanced level. It has an ATK bonus of +4, a max HP bonus of +14, and has two slots for Alchemy Effects.
