Dragon Slash is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series.

It typically deals 50% more damage to Dragons. When combined with the dragonsbane sword, it does even more damage.

Absent from the original, it was included in the remakes as one of the 9th Chosen One's special abilities. If the Falcon Blade is equipped, the skill will strike twice per use. Affected monsters:

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of RevelationEdit
Dragon Slash inflicts extra damage on Dragons, otherwise it deals normal melee damage. It is obtained by advancing to rank 2 of the Gladiator vocation. On the enemy side, the skill works on Lizzie and any character under the effects of the Puff! spell. The Affected monsters are:
- Damselfly (also Flying)
- Gasbagon
- Axesaurus
- Noble gasbagon
- Cutterfly (also Flying)
- Tyrantosaurus
- Hacksaurus
- Sea fortress (ocean)
- Finned fatale (ocean)
It is used by the enemies überkilling machines, lethal charmours, Zozagel, and Nokturnus.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten PastEdit
Dragon Slash is learned by reaching rank 2 of the Warrior vocation. Affected monsters:

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed KingEdit
Eight can use Dragon Slash after allocating 9 points into the Swords skill. It cannot be learned by any other sword wielder.
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry SkiesEdit
Dragon Slash is the first of the sword techniques, obtained after 3 skill points are invested into the Swords skill. Visually, the user leaps towards the target, then swings his or her sword, creating a brief vertical spout of fire as the swing finishes.
Dragon Quest XEdit
Dragon Slash can be learned by Warriors, Gadabouts, Gladiators, Paladins, Armamentalists, Demon Swordsmen, and Guardians by investing 13 points into their Swords skill. It costs 1 MP to use and deals 150% damage plus 5 to dragons.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive AgeEdit
Dragon Slash can be learned by the Luminary, Erik, Sylvando, and Hendrik through the Swords panel on their character builders for 10 skill points. It now costs 2 MP to use and inflicts double damage to dragons.
- After both the Luminary and Hendrik have learned Dragon Slash, Hendrik can perform the Pep power Double Dragon Slash when he is Pepped up. Jade is able to perform the Pep power Raging Dragons when she is pepped up and has mastered the Hardclaw skill.
Torneko: The Last HopeEdit
Dragon Slash is a special sword skill that inflicts double damage to dragons (normal damage to all other families) and costs 2 Hunger to use. It can only be learned by having the Dragon-X, Loto Sword, or Magic Sword equipped and the condition is killing five monsters of the Dragon family on the same floor.

Dragon Quest MonstersEdit
Known as DrakSlash in this game, it requires the monster to reach level 12 with 68 HP, 72 Attack and 62 Agility. It is naturally learned by the Durran, EvilArmor, Grendal, MadRaven, ManEater and Skullroo.
Dragon Quest Monsters 2Edit
The requirements to learn DrakSlash are unchanged. It is naturally learned by the Clawster. It is no longer naturally learned by the EvilArmor, MadRaven, Octoraid or Skullroo.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2Edit
Dragon Slash now only deals 135% damage to Dragons. It can be learned from all the skills it could be previously, though Firewind Slashes now requires only 38 points. It can now be learned from Battle Road Master for 20 points.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark PrinceEdit
Dragon Slash costs 4 MP and deals double damage fire-breathing lizards, with other types of monsters taking a reduced 60% damage when struck by mistake. The skill also stacks with Dragonsbane and Über Dragonsbane for quadruple and quintuple damage respectively.
It is learned through the Air Fryer, Breath Taker, Frizz Afficionado, Leading Light, Nokturnus, Pest Controller, Spicy Slasher, and Überkilling Machine talents.

Dragon Quest TactEdit
Dragon Slash can be learned by Gold lion at level 26 and costs 17 MP to use. It inflicts 270% potency physical damage to Dragons and 135% potency physical damage to enemies from all other families. It can also be taught to any unit by using an ability scroll, which can be purchased once monthly from the Arena Medal Swap Shop for 500 medals or received as a reward for completing the seventh stage of Baran's Battle Road.
