Thinkincense

Thinkincense is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series. It is a peculiar herb that causes enlightenment when burned and is used as a crafting ingredient. Its name is a play on "frankincense".

Thinkincense can be collected from the Cringle Coast, Western Wormwood, and the Wyrmneck, or found randomly in the fountain at a fully upgraded Quester's Rest in the postgame. One clump of thinkincense, along with a sprig of Narspicious, and a vial of Nectar are required to complete Quest #60: That Makes Scents. It can be sold for 22 gold coins each. Thinkincense is used in the following alchemy recipes:

Dragon Quest XEdit

Thinkincense is used as a material for crafting weapons and armour or in Alchemy to give pieces of footwear a bonus to evasion rate. It can be purchased from a material shop for 270 gold coins each, picked up from sparkly spots, or dropped by certain monsters such as Lump shamans.

Thinkincense can be purchased for 450 gold coins each from the item shop at Lonalulu, picked up from sparkly spots at Lonalulu, the Champs Sauvage, and the Arborian Highlands, or dropped once again by Lump shamans. One clump of Thinkincense can be found in a pot at Phnom Nonh. Thinkincense is used in the following recipes for the Fun-Size Forge:

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight BelowEdit

Thinkincense can be dropped by Magi and Shamans, found randomly in treasure chests and barrels on the Stonecloud, or received from King Flaminio in exchange for 3 Mini medals on the Stonecloud. It can also be received as a reward for completing Showdown: Old Five Necks with silver clear time from the second time onward. Thinkincense can be used to create Papillon pendants and the classic recipe for the Scholar's specs in the Alchemy Pot or sold for 39 gold coins each. Two clumps of thinkincense are required to complete Quest #33: A Soothing Scent.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's EndEdit

Thinkincense is used as a material for improving various accessories or can be sold for 39 gold coins each. It can be dropped by Shamans and Baalzacks or picked up from sparkly spots in the Redrock Ravine.

Thinkincense can be collected from plants on the Maneland and the Wingswept Moors or received by sending a dispatch team to the Bonedry Heights area of the Maneland or the Greywing Bridge area of the Wingswept Moors. It is mainly used for crafting pellets at the Werks or for scouting monsters.
