Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is a turn-based RPG that is developed by Alim and published by Square Enix for smartphone devices that was released in Japan on October 22nd, 2015 with a global version launching on June 30th, 2016. The same day, a collaboration event with Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light began in the Japanese version and ran until July 20th, 2016. This event added several monsters from the Dragon Quest series to the game that could be recruited or summoned by the player. Further collaboration events added more monsters and characters to the game:

Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light units

  • Slime - A well-known monster that appeared from a faraway world. These slimes are often the very first monsters a fledgling adventurer will face on their travels.
  • Golem - A massive monster that appeared from a faraway world. Made from clay and built like brick outhouses, golems are often found guarding bases.
  • Liquid metal slime - A monster that yields a great deal of experience when defeated, that appeared from a faraway world. They are often targeted by adventurers for that very reason, but they escape most of the time with their impressive speed.
  • Killing machine - A merciless mechanical soldier that appeared from a faraway world. They exist only to exterminate any that stand in their way, and will attack swiftly and ceaselessly until their target is destroyed.
  • Robbin' 'Ood - An infamous thief from a faraway world. He appears whenever and wherever one would least expect it, working evil with his followers at his side.
  • Orochi - A multi-headed dragon feared from ancient times that appeared from a faraway world. Each of its heads can breathe giant gouts of flame that leave nothing in their wake.
  • Dragonlord - An evil king seeking global domination who appeared from a faraway world. He sought to gain dominion by stealing the Sphere of Light from the humans to bring darkness throughout the land.
  • Dracky - A bat with a really long tail that appeared from a faraway world. This monster is known as one of the first ones an adventurer encounters when setting off on a long journey.
  • Slime knight - A knight atop a slime that appeared from a faraway world. Since they don't share the same body, the knight and the slime have been known to act independently from time to time.
  • Überkilling machine - A terrifying mechanical weapon that appeared from a faraway world. It wields a mace in its right hand and a sword in its left, attacking anyone it encounters without mercy.
  • Estark - A monster titled the Lord of the Underworld who appeared from a faraway world. He has two huge horns upon his head, and wields a gigantic sword in each hand.
  • Marquis de Léon - A monster with eight limbs that resembles a lion who appeared from a faraway world. He can freeze an entire area with his cold breath.
  • Alena & Marquis de Léon - Alena, tsarevna of the kingdom of Zamoksva, accompanied by the Marquis de Léon. Alena was born and raised in a distant world watched over by a floating castle.
  • King of Destruction Zoma - A demon lord bent on destruction who appeared from a distant world. Zoma plans to drown the world in despair by making use of his evil magic and his monster minions.

In 2018, a collaboration event was announced to celebrate the release of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition, adding more new units to the game:

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition units

  • Eleven - A young man who hails from the parallel world of Erdrea. Having come from the quiet country village of Cobblestone, he believed himself to be an unexceptional boy until his coming of age ritual, when he learned that he was in fact the reincarnation of the Luminary—a hero who had once saved the world.
  • Erik - A young man who hails from the parallel world of Erdrea, and who's easily spotted by his shock of blue hair. He spends his life travelling the world looking for treasures to…liberate.
  • Veronica - A spirited young spell-slinger who hails from the village of Arboria in the parallel world of Erdrea. She's utterly fearless, and often a little overbearing, but her heart is entirely in the right place.
  • Serena - A healer who hails from the village of Arboria in the parallel world of Erdrea. She is a kind and gentle young woman, though she has been known to become frustrated with her twin sister Veronica from time to time.
  • Sylvando - An entertainer driven by a daring dream who hails from the parallel world of Erdrea. His can-do attitude and unassailably upbeat air have won him fans far too numerous to count.
  • Jade - A martial artist with jet-black hair who hails from the parallel world of Erdrea. She's statuesque and serious, with an air of real refinement.
  • Rab - A jovial gentleman of advanced age who hails from the parallel world of Erdrea. At first glance he looks like a humble traveller, but he's actually a mean martial artist who also knows all sorts of spells. There's something strangely stately in his otherwise avuncular bearing, which suggests there might be more to him that meets the eye.
  • Great dragon - An enormous golden dragon that can usually be found petrifying the people of the parallel world of Erdrea.
  • Mordegon - A wicked wizard who hails from the parallel world of Erdrea. He's hatched a horrid plot to steal the soul of Yggdrasil, the Great World Tree, and appropriate it for his own ends.
  • The Lord of Shadows - An unspeakable evil whose original home was the parallel world of Erdrea. He has purloined the powers of the Luminary, and used them to lay claim to the soul of Yggdrasil, the Great World Tree.
  • Jasper Unbound - A Spectral Sentinel who hails from the parallel world of Erdrea. In his role as military master of the forces of darkness, he is second only to the Lord of Shadows in influence among evildoers, and ensures that the other Sentinels enact their master's every wicked wish.

From June 2nd, 2022 to June 22nd, 2022, a collaboration event with Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai took place, adding characters from the series to the game:

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai units

  • Hero Dai - A young man who appears in a story of the Dragon Knight in a faraway world. He is a Disciple of Avan, a group taught by Hero Avan who once defeated the Dark Lord. As the ultimate warrior known as the Dragon Knight, he manifests explosive power when the Dragon Crest shines forth. Perhaps due to his being raised on an island inhabited only by monsters, he has a purity and lack of preconceptions towards others that is an inspiration to many.
  • Mage Popp - A young man who appears in a story of the Dragon Knight in a faraway world. He is a Disciple of Avan, a group taught by Hero Avan who once defeated the Dark Lord. Originally someone who would turn tail and run when confronted with a strong opponent, he overcame his cowardice in response to the expectations of his companions. His magical abilities also remarkably improved after studying under Grand Sorcerer Matoriv. The Dark Army has also seen his growth and judged his potential to be "higher even than Dai's."
  • Martial Artist Maam - A young woman who appears in a story of the Dragon Knight in a faraway world. She is a Disciple of Avan, a group taught by Hero Avan who once defeated the Dark Lord. Originally, she travelled with Dai as a Warrior Priest, but after reassessing her own abilities, she decided to part ways with the group. She rejoined Dai and their friends as a full-fledged martial artist after training under Brokeena the Holy Fist. She is fiercely devoted, with a heart that gives her a deep affection for others.
  • Beast King Crocodine - A Beastling who appears in a story of the Dragon Knight in a faraway world. Known as the "Beast King," this croc is a loyal warrior with the heart of a lion. He served in the Dark Army as legion commander of the Furfang Legion, but suffered a loss at the hands of Dai and his friends despite having used underhanded tactics he himself detested. After the battle, he saw the beauty of humanity, and left the Dark Army to become one of Dai's allies. He is a righteous and upstanding Beastling who is a source of morale support within the party.
  • Immortal Hyunckel - A young man who appears in a story of the Dragon Knight in a faraway world. He is a Disciple of Avan, a group taught by Hero Avan who once defeated the Dark Lord. He carries incredible guilt from his past, and though he has earned the trust of his friends, he is harsh on himself and always keeps others at a distance. He is a gifted swordsman, but after inheriting the Dark Armor Spear from the Land Rider Larhart, he began studying polearm combat as well. With his prodigious martial abilities, he quickly mastered the majority of the Avan Style Spear Techniques with ease.
  • Dragon Knight Baran - A man who appears in a story of the Dragon Knight in a faraway world. Equipped with the strength of Dragons, the magical power of the Darklings, and the heart of a human, he is the reigning Dragon Knight as well as Dai's biological father. He viewed mankind as evil and had dedicated his life to its destruction, but during his encounters with Dai and his companions, he was repeatedly bested by the resilience of the human heart, and it appears he is beginning to see things differently. During the heroes' decisive battle with the Dark King Vearn, Baran, moved by Hyunckel's noble sacrifice, joined Dai to fight on the side of the humans.
  • Superior Being Hadlar - A man who appears in a story of the Dragon Knight in a faraway world. By augmenting himself with bio-modifications produced by Zaboera's research on Superior Beings, he has achieved unprecedented new power. Having discarded his Darkling body, he no longer has the immortality once granted by its Dark Aura, but in turn he's regained the ability to wield magic—thus doing away with the usual limitations Superior Beings face. It would seem that after continual defeats at the hands of Avan's Disciples, Hadlar came to realize that his mighty pride and vanity were in fact his greatest weaknesses, and—having cast them off—he has been reborn both physically and spiritually.

War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is a tactical RPG for smartphones that was co-developed between Square Enix and Gumi Inc. that was released in Japan in November 2019 with a global version being released later in March 2020. From August 24th to September 30th, 2022, a collaboration event with Dragon Quest Tact was announced, adding Slime, Psaro, and Zoma as collaboration units to the game. This would be followed by a collaboration event in Tact itself, which would add a total of 11 units from the Final Fantasy series to the game.

Playable Units in Dragon Quest Tact
