The Citadel of the Monarch of Medals is a castle introduced in the Dragon Quest remake in Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, located south of Damdara. It is one of the few locations in Dragon Quest that does not reappear in the remake of Dragon Quest II, being replaced by the functionally similar Isle of the Monarch of Medals. Like similar locations in the series, the area's primary purpose is to allow the player to exchange Mini medals for various goods. Though the area is solely composed of the castle, it also contains a shop, church, inn and a bank.
