The minidemon is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest III.
It is the same kind of fork-holding monster as an imp except it has enough MP for a spell to use (usually Frizzle), and can breath out much colder air. They are said to be the juvenile forms of archdemons according to their bestiary in most games. In Dragon Quest V it is the same color as an imp (which doesn't appear), but its typical color is green.
Appearances
Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation
An NPC minidemon appears on the Phantom Ship and attacks when spoken to. It respawns after the player returns to the area.
Despite being able to see the Hero and party when they are in the form of a monster (Mod Rod in the SFC or GBC version of III) or invisible, it will not attack.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen
Several NPC minidemons appear through the game.
One appears in Pharos Beacon prior to defeating tigergram his two Flamethrowers. The minidemon declares it's intent to go after Torneko Taloon for attempting to stoptigergram and uses Zoom to pursue him, only to bump it's head on the ceiling.
Three minidemons appear in Zamoksva during Chapter 5 until the boss is defeated. The one occupying the kitchen attacks the Hero and party if spoken to. It will not respawn after being defeated.
Several appear in Diabolic Hall and will attack if spoken two unless the party assumes monster form with the Mod Rod.
One appears in the Mine of Mamon after a deady being is unearthed. As with a weartiger, both wander around aimlessly on B3F. Another minidemon appears in the scene after the party defeated Estark, telling Psaro that Rose has been kidnapped and leaves with him and his accompanying restless armour.
Another minidemon appears in Zenithia, this time as a friendly monster who will give the party a Yggdrasil dew if spoken to, but will not give any more until the party's stock of Yggdrasil dew is gone.
