The Lucida shard (ほしのかけら hoshi no kakera "Star Shard") is an accessory that first appeared in Dragon Quest VI, where when used as an item in battle, it would attempt to confuse an enemy.
The Lucida shard is a recurring item in the DQSeries. When it was first introduced, it was an accessory that could either cause confusion to an enemy or remove confusion from a party member when used as a tool in battle. In later games, it has become a crafting material instead.

In Dragon Quest IV (remake), this was changed to where it would instead cure an ally's confusion. In Dragon Quest IX it is an alchemy ingredient.
