The Earthenwarrior is a monster in the Dragon Quest series that was introduced in Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies.
Characteristics
Earthenwarriors are earth soldiers riding on earth horses, which seems to be a play on the Terracotta Army that were found in Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor. It may also be inspired from Japanese Haniwa funerary objects, which were also constructed from terracotta clay. True to their real-life counterparts' purpose, they possess protective magic that allows them to bolster their allies' defences.
