Faerie Lea is where the seasons of the world are governed, controlled by the Queen of faeries through the use of an enchanted flute know as the Herald of Spring. Some time before the Hero 5 arrives in the village of Whealbrook, the Herald of Spring was stolen and winter has continued well into the springtime months of the year. Treacle, the current Queen of the Faeries, is at a loss for how to find the flute and sends out the faerie Honey into the human world to recruit a capable person willing to help. Because most humans cannot see Faeries, Honey lingers in Whealbrook until the Hero 5 discovers sitting on the counter in the local bar. Explaining the situation, Honey races the to the basement of his home and conjures up a stairway of golden light that leads to Faerie Lea. Once they arrive, Honey introduces the Hero 5 to Treacle and is assigned to aid him in finding the flute.

Other notable attributes
After some sleuthing and with some tips from the villagers, the duo discover that the Herald of Spring was stolen by Dwight, a Dwarf who was lied to by a woman calling herself the Winter Queen. The deceitful woman is an ice monster in disguise, who wants to rule over the barren tundra that Faerie Lea will become if winter does not cease. The monster stated that Dwight's grandfather was banished from Faerie Lea and forced to live in a cave by Treacle when it was the previous Queen; the old man has let bygones be bygones but his grandson is too infuriated to listen, and must be confronted at the Winter Palace in the north end of the region. There, he and the Winter Queen are defeated and Dwight scurries off home while the Hero 5 and Honey retrieve the flute and present it to Treacle, who promptly summons spring as the tree castle enters into full bloom. Grateful to have nature back to normal, Treacle promises the Hero 5 that if he is ever in trouble when he is older and he returns to Faerie Lea, she will do everything she can to help him. The Hero 5 is whisked back to his basement, with only Blooming branch as a keepsake of the adventure (Remakes only).

Treasure
Treacle's promise is fulfilled approximately 18 years later. After exploring the Neverglade forest, the Hero 5's children spot a faerie sitting by a campfire and lead their father into Faerie Lea. Treacle is still the Queen, and listens to the Hero 5 describe the submerged fate of Zenithia. Though unable to sole the problem herself, Treacle gives the Hero the Faerie horn that can dispel the impenetrable fog that surrounds the Faerie Palace in the human world. There Queen Caramel, ruler of all faeries, will be able to aid the Party 5 and restore Zenithia to the heavens.

"Welcome to Faerie Lea, the soft and creamy home of the faeries"

—Treacle, introducing the Hero to her land (DS, cell phone)

Faerie Lea is the land where the faeries live in Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride.

It is a separate world map from the normal world of V, similar to Nadiria. Though briefly visited in the Generation I, it cannot be accessed again until much later into the Generation III.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride[edit]

Faerie Lea refers to both the village of Faeries and the lands surrounding it. The village is small and is set around a beautiful lake with the inn and armour shop situated at the south end, and a massive, hollow tree at the north end. Lillypads large enough to walk across connect the two sections. Faeries are not the only inhabitants, with Humans, Dwarves, and even a Slime and Skeleton taking residence. Aside from the faerie settlement, there are are two other areas of note: the Dwarf's Den and the Winter Palace. A T'n'T board is available in the latter after revisiting. Unlike most other areas, the enemy formations in this area do not change after the timeskip: a few rare and unusual monster companions can be obtained here.

Faerie Lea is where the seasons of the world are governed, controlled by the Queen of faeries through the use of an enchanted flute know as the Herald of Spring. Some time before the Hero arrives in the village of Whealbrook, the Herald of Spring was stolen and winter has continued well into the springtime months of the year. Treacle, the current Queen of the Faeries, is at a loss for how to find the flute and sends out the faerie Honey into the human world to recruit a capable person willing to help. Because most humans cannot see Faeries, Honey lingers in Whealbrook until the Hero discovers sitting on the counter in the local bar. Explaining the situation, Honey races the Hero to the basement of his home and conjures up a stairway of golden light that leads to Faerie Lea. Once they arrive, Honey introduces the Hero to Treacle and is assigned to aid him in finding the flute.

There, he and the Winter Queen are defeated and Dwight scurries off home while the Hero and Honey retrieve the flute and present it to Treacle, who promptly summons spring as the tree castle enters into full bloom. Grateful to have nature back to normal, Treacle promises the Hero that if he is ever in trouble when he is older and he returns to Faerie Lea, she will do everything she can to help him. The Hero is whisked back to his basement, with only Blooming branch as a keepsake of the adventure (Remakes only).

Treacle's promise is fulfilled approximately 18 years later. After exploring the Neverglade forest, the Hero's children spot a faerie sitting by a campfire and lead their father into Faerie Lea. Treacle is still the Queen, and listens to the Hero describe the submerged fate of Zenithia. Though unable to sole the problem herself, Treacle gives the Hero the Faerie horn that can dispel the impenetrable fog that surrounds the Faerie Palace in the human world. There Queen Caramel, ruler of all faeries, will be able to aid the party and restore Zenithia to the heavens.
