Monster Arena (Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake)

The monster arena replaces the traditional gambling dens seen in the previous versions of Dragon Quest III with a tournament where the player's rescued monsters compete for exquisite prizes.

There are arenas found in Romaria, Ibis, Manoza, Cantlin, and Jipang, and each host their own brackets that can only be entered there. Do note that the Jipangese arena must first be unlocked by defeating the dragon god Xenlon and wishing for it to be brought into existence first.

Trivia
- Each arena is themed after its host kingdom, such as the Romarian one being a proper coliseum and the Ibis arena featuring obelisks
- Both the Queen of Romaria and the Queen of Ibis compete in their kingdom's arenas, which in the former's case means that the whole royal family likes to slip away from the castle to goof off
