Hargon, Sorcerer of Rhone, is the primary antagonist in Enix's Dragon Warrior II and a recurring character in the Dragon Quest series. His minions attacked Moonbrooke Castle at the beginning of Dragon Warrior II, killing the king and destroying the palace.
Although defeating him appears to be the final objective of the descendants of Erdrick from Midenhall, Cannock, and Moonbrooke, Hargon was in fact a corrupt cleric that planned to summon the God of Destruction, Malroth, whom the heroes must ultimately destroy after defeating Hargon.
Hargon also appears in Dragon Warrior Monsters and Dragon Warrior Monsters 2.
