The spell Midheal is a recurring healing spell in the Dragon Quest series.
Midheal | |
---|---|
Japanese | ベホイミ |
Rōmaji | Behoimi |
Type | Restorative |
Older names | Healmore |
It restores a moderate amount of HP to one character, and is related to the spells Heal, Moreheal, Megaheal, Fullheal, Multiheal, and Omniheal.
Medislimes are known for casting this spell on their allies in battle, often prolonging encounters considerably.
AppearancesEdit
Dragon QuestEdit
The Hero learns Midheal at Level 17, and needs 10 MP to cast it in the original version, and 8 in the remakes. It restores 85~100 HP in all versions.
The enemies Cosmic chimaera and Knight abhorrent can use this spell to heal themselves.
Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary LineEdit
Midheal is learned by The Prince of Cannock at Level 14, while The Princess of Moonbrooke starts with it. It requires 5 MP to cast in all versions of the game. Oddly, the spell's healing rates in and out of battle are different in the original version; when cast in battle the spell will operate within the familiar 85~100 range, but when cast outside of battle the spell will restore only 43~85 HPs. This unusual aspect is not present in any of the remakes.
The enemies Hargonaut, Grimlin and Orc king, can use this spell on themselves or their allies.
Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of SalvationEdit
Midheal is learned by The Hero at Level 29, and by Priests & Sages at Level 14. It requires 5 MP to cast and restores 74~95 HP, setting the standard for it's subsequent appearances.
The spell can also cause damage to Zoma after the Sphere of Light is used on him.
The enemies Leger-de-Man, One-man army, Crone ranger, Crone, Heedoo voodoo, Voodoogooder, Vladiator, Robbin' huddle, Mermaniac, and Lump shaman can use this spell to heal themselves or their allies.
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the ChosenEdit
Midheal is learned by the Hero at level 7, Meena Mahabala at 13, and Kiryl at 16.
The enemies Skeleton soldier, Grim rider, Prima Donna, and Well wisher (in the remakes) can use this spell to heal themselves or their allies.
Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly BrideEdit
Midheal is learned by the following:
