The super sword of light is not the same blade as the [[Sword of Light]], which was a newly crafted weapon made in its image. This is the sword stored in the heart of [[Yggdrasil]] and later defiled by [[Mordegon]] into the sinister [[Sword of Shadows]] during the end of the first act. It remains in Mordegon's possession throughout the second act until he is killed in his [[Fortress of Fear]], where the [[Hero (Dragon Quest XI)|Luminary]] will reclaim it. As the sword of shadows it travels back in time with the Luminary to the end of the first act and is used to destroy [[Jasper]]'s impenetrable shield, disintegrating after the battle.
