Shypox

From Dragon Quest Wiki

Shypox is an optional handicap available in Dragon Quest XI, which gives the Luminary a chance to be stunned for one turn in battle due to becoming cripplingly embarrassed; this can range from enemies staring too intently at him to remembering bad childhood memories, a strong breeze ruining his hair, etc. For the S: Definitive Edition that first appeared on the Nintendo Switch hardware, a super strain of shypox was introduced that can affect the entire party at once. As with the other Draconian Quest penalties, shypox is not recommended for first-time players.

Speaking to townsfolk[edit]

This form of shypox mostly affects the Luminary, but also applies to Erik, Sylvando, Rab, & Jade during their solo adventures between the first and second acts of the game.
