Proudmane is a boss monster found in Dragon Quest Treasures. It is one of the ancient ones, guarding the way to the treasure of treasures. Proudmane is found in the Snarl, protecting a tablet leading to the sapphire eye.

Characteristics[edit]

Proudmane is an enormous, grey skinned lion with a mane of blazing fire and rear-facing horns. Similar embers cover it's forelimbs, shoulders, and even eyebrows, culminating in a series of tails that cause it to partially resemble the infamous nine-tailed kitsune youkai. The only normal fur on the monster's body is a large tuft of grey hair on the chest, in which is a teal gem that is it's weak spot.

Proudmane exhibits the predatory nature found in all felines and will attempt to pounce on the player. This can be exploited by positioning Erik or Mia near the balls of magma in it's lair, stunning it briefly for a counterattack opportunity.
