The Costumes in Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is a category of equipment who change appearance of the Party if they are equipped with the right items. The costumes are distinguished by a pink icon to better differentiate them from others equipments.

The Definitive edition add new more costumes, option to choose any costumes regardless of the equipment worn when you've collected all the items once and some equipments who had the same model in the original version have now different colors.

  • Rab and Hendrik wear a Gadabout costume during a part of the second act but no items are associetad at this costume, making this one unique at this part of the game.
  • Every costumes of Erik except "The lupine look" and "The stone-cold killer" have a version without the hat.
  • Serana have the Ring of Changes who can make her wearing short hair she has during the second act when equipped with it.
