The Realm of the Mighty is the final "storymode" dungeon in Dragon Quest IX. The Palace of the Mighty is located on the top of it.

Appearence

Originally it was the Realm of the Almighty, however due to Corvus' corruption, the realm was transformed into a lair full of monsters and pools of poison. One can still see parts of the original Realm when you are moving through this dungeon, things like the Rainbow bridges, now shattered, or the Palace at the top of the Realm.

The Realm of the Mighty can be returned to after finishing the storymode of Dragon Quest IX. One must go to the Realm of the Almighty and speak with Celestria; she will then be able to transport the player to the dungeon. Some of the most powerful monsters, barring those exclusive to grottoes, in the game appear in the Realm of the Mighty, so it is advised that the player and his or her party be equipped and well-trained prior to venturing towards the initial story's final battle.

Palace of the Mighty

The Palace of the Mighty is the fallen form the Temple of the Almighty. It is located on the top of Realm of the Mighty and its layout is identical to the one of the Temple of the Almighty, however in the exterior area of the second floor now the floor have some vines that the Hero/Heroine can use to access to the interior area of the second floor since the stairs of the first floor are now unaccessibles.

Also, at the second floor of the Palace there is now a throne, Corvus' throne. This is were the first battle with Corvus is done.
