Hector is a temporary playable character in Dragon Quest IV. The son of an innkeeper, he lost faith in his friends when they betrayed him while on a quest, and as a result distrusts all humanity. However, the party manages to obtain his services for crossing the desert, and after witnessing the party's comraderie Hector is able to come to terms with the past. After they no longer have need of him, Hector gives them his wagon in thanks.
