Sparkie (Doran in the NES version) is a temporary party member in Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen.
He is one of Orifiela's dragons, whom she offers to the party to replace her when she leaves it.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit]
Sparkie is first encountered in Chapter 5, and is one of several dragons found in Zenithia that is in the care of Orifiela. She offers his assitance to the party, and will be present in the line up until the final battle of Chapter 5.
In Chapter 6, he will leave the group when they exit Rosehill after the revived Rose joins them. According to Rose, Sparkie returns to Zenithia to tell the residents of the castle about the blooming of the Yggdrasil flower. Afterwards, he can be seen with Orifiela again.
According to a diary found in Zenithia's library, Sparkie was born in the same year as Orifiela.
