Sparkie (Doran in the NES version) is a temporary NPC in Dragon Quest IV. He is one of Orifiela's dragons, whom she offers to the party to replace her when she leaves it.
Sparkie will be present in the line up until the final battle of Chapter 5. In Chapter 6, he will leave the group when they exit Rosehill after Rose joins them. According to Rose, Sparkie returns to Zenithia to tell the residents of the castle about the blooming of the Yggdrasil flower. Afterwards, he can be seen with Orifiela again.
