The Costumes in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King is a category of equipment who change the appearance of the Party when they are equipped with the correct items. The original release of the game only had costumes for the Hero and Jessica but the 3DS version add more costumes for everybody.

- In the 3DS version, some costumes of Jessica have been slighty altered to be less revealing: the Bunny suit is now a two piece suit, the Magic bikini had a longer miniskirt and the Divine bustier add white tights and white fabric under the gold lacings.
