Lifeboat is a defensive skill that appears in Dragon Quest VII. When used, it summons a biblical boat to shelter the party for one turn.

Dragon Quest VII[edit]

In the PSX original, Lifeboat could only be learned as a hybrid skill of mastering the Sailor and Priest vocations. In the 3DS remake, it is learned automatically by reaching rank 3 of the Pirate vocation.

In either case, Lifeboat nullifies all damage done to the party for 10MP, making it more expensive (and stylistic) than Kaclang. For frugal players, using the Rainbow Drop to replicate the effect is the more sensible option than the skill itself. Lifeboat has the highest priority of any skill or spell in the game meaning it will always activate first during a turn, even before Double Up and Mercurial Thrust.
