- For the monster class in Dragon Quest VII, see Andreal (Class).
Rashaverak (originally Anderoug; Andreal in later translations) is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest IV as a boss monster, he is a large, winged dragon that would later go on to become a normal enemy in other games.
Characteristics
Rashaverak appears as a winged dragon with large frills, four limbs, a thick tail, and a noticeable gut. He is shades of gray in his first appearances but would later take on a purple and orange color scheme.
In his first appearance as a boss monster, Rashaverak had the power to make two copies of himself that would help him in battle. He lacks this skill in later appearances and usually compensates by knowing Dazzle, a hallucination inducing spell that, on him, likely references this splitting power. As a dragon he has considerable physical strength and can unleash powerful fire attacks.
Appearances
Main series
Rashaverak is a dragon demon and one of Psaro's four servants who maintain the barrier surrounding Death Palace. He is triplicated when he appears, and can summon more copies in battle if those are defeated. They attack with superheated gases, though the power of these attacks can be greatly reduced with Insulatle. His dialogue as he dies indicates that Rashaverak is loyal to Psaro.

Worryingly weighty wyrms whose sheer size will shock anyone not sufficiently impressed by their spine-chilling strength.
Should day suddenly turn to night, turn a wary eye to the skies -- it could be a company of rampaging rashaveraks.

Etymology
Anderoug, Rashaverak's name in the original NES release, is an imperfect anagram of "dragon".
