Remake[edit]
- In the Super Famicom Version of the game, the true form of the town is most of the residents being monsters with several characters from Dragon Quest IV and Dragon Quest V being included. The remake offers three options which can't be undone in a playthrough once saved:
- The near future: The town is populated by all party members from Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen.
- The far future: The town is populated by the party members from Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride.
- Monsters today: The town is mostly populated by monsters as with the SFC Version with the following differences:
- The innkeeper in the SFC version is a Lips while the guest is Torneko Taloon. The remake replaces them with an elven woman and Overkilling machine.
- The bank is ran by a Boss troll in the SFC version, and a talking frog in the remake.
- The church in the SFC version has a Damned ram, while the remake has a Dwarf and Gustbluster
- The item shop is ran by an Overkilling machine and has a guard as customer in the SFC version, while in the remake is ran by a talking cat.
- The house resembling Tania's is occupied by Maya and a Feralball in the SFC version, while the house in the remake is occupied by a Lips, along with a Feralball and a Dreamaera.
- The upstairs in the house leading to the rest of the Fungeon has no one in it, with Sancho along with Parry & Madchen looking for the Hero from V in the SFC version. In the remake, the upstairs is occupied by a Damned ram and Boss troll, with a High djinks sensing Nokturnus.
