Acceleratle is a recurring spell in the Dragon Quest series.

It increases the Agility of every member of the party.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit]

Acceleratle is learned by Priests and Sages at level 5, and doubles a character's current Agility until the end of battles--capping at 255. Despite Agility factoring into a character's total Defence stat in all versions of III, the spell will not change that value.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit]

Acceleratle is learned by Borya at level 14, and possesses the same attributes as before. It is also used by picksy on their allies.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]

Acceleratle is learned by Jessica after investing 3 points into her Staff skill. The spell doubles a character's Agility per cast for 6~9 turns, capping at 999. Due to game mechanics, Acceleratle also raises Evasion.

  • In the 3DS version, it is also learned by Red after investing 3 points into her Roguery skill.

The enemies Mecha-mynah, Boe, See angel, Woc, and Octavian pirate can also use it. It can also be cast by the Infamous Monster Clio.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit]

Acceleratle is learned by Mages at level 4 and Armamentalists at level 12. It costs 4 MP to cast, and raises agility by up to 50% for 6~9 turns.

Dragon Quest X[edit]

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]

Serena and Sylvando will learn acceleratle at level 17 and 15. It costs 4 MP to cast, and will increase a character's Agility by 20% for 4~6 turns. It can be cast twice for a maximum boost of +40%.

Dragon Quest Monsters[edit]

Called SpeedUp in this game, it is an upgraded form of Speed. Speed grows into SpeedUp when the monster reaches level 5 with 24 MP and 20 Intelligence.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2[edit]

SpeedUp now requires 36 Intelligence to learn.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker[edit]

Acceleratle can be learned from:

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2[edit]

Acceleratle can be learned from all the skill it could be previously, though Speedster now requires 47 points.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D[edit]

Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key[edit]

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3[edit]

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[edit]

Acceleratle costs 4 MP and will raise the party's agility by 40% for 4~7 turns. It can be cast twice for an 80% boost in total, and is learned through the Blusterer, Dark Horse, Fluffy, Sage, Speedster, and Zap Virtuoso talents.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit]

Acceleratle is known naturally by Jamirus at level 1 and costs 24 MP to cast. It has a range of up to two squares away from him in any direction, can be self-cast, and raises the Agility of all allies in a plus sign-shaped area of effect. Upgrading the spell reduces the amount of MP it costs to cast.
