The party are taken in by Nava after their defeat at Strom's hands. Zev complains that Nava is pushing herself too hard. Eustace enters the residence and hands Nava a phial of Yggdrasil dew, which he states should help her breathe easier. Zev gets jealous that Eustace is getting his older sister's attention and believes he has an ulterior motive to helping her. He tells Nava to lay down, which she does reluctantly. Zev tells Eustace to stop bothering his sister to which Eustace replies that Nava can do whatever she wants. Eustace leaves.

When the party is defeated by Inopp and Gonz on the fourth floor of the West Cave they return to Penal again and collapse. The party awakens and finds themselves back at Neris and Zaji's residence. Zaji tells Neris that he wants to speak with her outside. He tells her that he is able to get Neris's medicine for her and that she doesn't need to flirt with Kasim. Neris tells him that she isn't flirting with him. Zaji storms off to talk to Kasim.
When the party is defeated by Rashers and Stripes on the fourth floor of the Western Cave, they collapse and are carried back to Pilgrim's Perdition. The party awakens and finds themselves back at Nava and Zev's residence once again being taken care of by Nava. Zev tells Nava that he wants to speak with her in private away from the party's ears. He tells her that he is able to get Nava's medicine for her on his own and that she doesn't need to flirt with Eustace. Nava tells him that she isn't flirting with him. Zev storms off to talk to Eustace. Nava asks the party to go look for her brother to keep him from getting into trouble with Eustace. At the town pub, Zev confronts Eustace and tells him to leave his sister alone, to which Eustace replies that Nava is a grown woman and is more than capable of making her own decisions, causing Zev to run away again.

A pink warrior goes soul harvesting in a gambit to escape Penal. He encounters Kasim and he fights the Temple Guard while he is protecting Neris. Suifu comes and helps Kasim fight the pink warrior. They are able to overcome him. The pink warrior decides to attack Neris so that she will become the fifth soul he needs to get out of Penal. However, Zaji intercepts the attack. The attack is shallow so it doesn't take Zaji's soul but it was enough to warrant the monsters taking the pink warrior out of Penal. All of the people whose souls where taken, including Zaji is taken to the mountain settlement.
Meanwhile, in the middle of town, a pink-armored warrior is causing a ruckus with the Soulstealer in a gambit to escape Pilgrim's Perdition. Strom and his cronies attempt to confront the warrior to prevent anyone else's soul from being stolen, but he runs off. The party and the others give chase in order to prevent any further chaos, finding more soulless bodies strewn about the town. They eventually find the warrior in a confrontation with Storm, Eustace, Nava, Zev, and the rest of the townspeople. The warrior manages to steal another soul, bringing him one step closer to gaining his freedom from the monsters. Strom tells Eustace to help him subdue the warrior, telling him he'll make it worth his while and the guard crosses swords with the Soulstealer-wielding man. Storm sentences the man to death for the chaos that he's caused, but the warrior attempts to escape since he's close to attaining his goal.

Neris is despondent because of the loss of her brother. Kasim decides that he will help Neris get back her brother. He tells the party that he knows that he is unable to help Neris by himself. He decides to ally himself with the party in order to save Neris's brother and Fosse. He tells the party to meet him in the cave west of Penal, the same cave in which Flower had betrayed them.

The party find Zaji and Neris in a waiting room. Neris has taken up the SoulSword, wishing to kill the pink warrior who hurt Zaji. However, her illness, coupled with the dementia created by the SoulSword has made her unstable and erratic. Zaji tells Neris to give him the SoulSword, saying that she will feel better. However a monster stops Zaji, telling him that it is curious to see how far Neris will go in the tournament. Zaji storms off to talk to the monster running the arena to sign up but because he is by himself, the monsters do not allow him to participate. Neris uses a bevy of ice attacks include Iceslash and Icebolt. She can attack twice in one round as well. Zaji is a big help in this fight, casting Healmore when a party member is low on health, Upper to bolster their defense, Bang to attack the enemies and a strong physical attack which does ~30 HP damage. The Hero should attack, stopping only to use Healmore. Gabo should attack regularly. Maribel should be given the WondeRock and become designated Healer. She is a bit difficult, but not that hard.
Nava uses a bevy of ice attacks include Kacrackle Slash and Crackle. She can attack twice in one round, as well. Zev is a big help in this fight, casting Midheal when a party member is low on health, Buff to bolster their defense, Bang to attack the enemies and a strong physical attack which does ~30 HP damage. He is capable of landing critical hits, as well. The Hero 7 should attack, stopping only to use Midheal himself on an injured party member. Ruff should attack regularly. As always, equipping a boomerang on either the Hero or Ruff is helpful for taking out the monsters first. Maribel should be given the Salvation stone and become designated healer. If the player managed to get a Snooze stick before being sent to Pilgrim's Perdition, it can be helpful to put the slime knights to sleep to make the battle more manageable. The battle against her will prove difficult, but it is not impossible.

Nava is a character and boss in the Alltrades Abbey region in Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past.

Appearance and Character[edit]

Nava is a sickly young woman with light skin, blue eyes, and long curly blonde hair. Her illness is unknown but she is prone to fatigue. She wears a long, sleeveless purple tunic with gold fastenings, gold hoop earrings, white trousers, and brown leather boots. On her wrists, she wears gold bracelets, along with a gold band with rubies on her upper left arm. She lives with Zev, her younger brother. They travel to Alltrades Abbey, but are tricked by Cardinal Sin and are stripped of their abilities and are exiled to Pilgrim's Perdition. There, she catches the eye of Eustace, one of the temple guards, much to the ire of her younger brother. She is a kind and compassionate woman who helps take care of the party more than once when they are defeated, something which troubles Zev.

Nava becomes despondent when her brother's soul is stolen. In her despair, Nava takes up the Soulstealer and is determined to get revenge on the warrior who used the Soulstealer on Zev, but it has also driven her mad. Aided by the evil sword, Nava proves to be a capable and powerful swordswoman, rising to the top of the ranks at the Allblades Arena.

Synopsis[edit]

Nava greeting the party after they wake up.

The party are taken in by Nava after their defeat at Strom's hands. Zev complains that Nava is pushing herself too hard.
