Nosedive is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series used by winged monsters and bosses. The user flies high into the air before suddenly swooping down on a single character, dealing enhanced damage and in some cases being able to knock them down, as well.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest VIII[edit]

Nosedive can be used by both Hawk men and Gargoyles. It deals damage to a single character that ignores their Defence. When used, the in-game text states that the monster "attacks from the air!".

Dragon Quest IX[edit]

Nosedive is used by Corvus in both of his forms, dealing 150% damage to a single character. When used, the in-game text states that he "drops from the sky like a bolt from the blue!".

Dragon Quest XI[edit]

Nosedive can be used by Jasper in both his Unbound and Unhinged forms, as well as Overweening Pride. It deals 125% damage to a single character and has a chance to knock them down for one turn. When used, the in-game text states that the user "comes crashing down from above!".

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius[edit]

Nosedive appears as a skill that can be learned by Jasper Unbound at 6★ rarity or higher. It deals a high amount of physical damage to a single enemy that ignores DEF and inflicts stop for three turns.
