Counter Wait is a technique in the Dragon Quest series. It evades and counterattacks the enemy's next move.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit]

Counter Wait can be used by any character that has the Staff Studies (quest #72) item in their inventory. It costs 8 MP to use, and requires one turn to prepare.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]

Serena will learn the art of balance through her Spears section in the character builder, unlocking it for 20 points. It costs 8 MP to enter the stance, and lasts two turns.
