Charming Look is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series. It attempts to captivate an enemy with the user's attractiveness by staring deeply in their eyes. It was originally one of Angelo's personal abilities.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]
The former templar will learn how to perform Charming Look by allocating 81 skill points into his Charisma skill tree, replacing Angel Eyes. It costs 4 MP, deals 65~85 non-elemental damage to one enemy and has a 1⁄8th chance to paralyse the target.
- In the Nintendo 3DS port, Charming Look now deals 65~105 damage.
Dragon Quest X[edit]
Charming Look is an enemy-only skill in this game, dealing non-elemental damage to one enemy like in VIII, but can now beguile them from this game onwards. It is used by Charm bats, Hellbound hair-raisers, Hellbound heretics, Fruity succubats, Vampire succubats, Bone idols, and Pusgon and her awakened self.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]
Acts the same as in X, but can no longer damage a character and is used by Fruity Succubats, Vampire Succubats, Hellbound Hair-Raisers, & Hellbound Heretics once again.
Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road[edit]
Charming Look appears as a special skill that can be used by Angelo once again. However, it does not inflict any damage and has a chance of putting an enemy to sleep instead of paralysing them.
