BirdBlow is a skill exclusive to Dragon Quest Monsters and Dragon Quest Monsters 2. It deals 1.5 times more damage to enemies in the Bird family, and costs 3 MP to use. It possibily influenced the creation of Wing-Clipper as they have similar names (in Japanese and the old localization) and effects, however it is a different ability with its own name.

Dragon Quest Monsters

Called BirdBlow in this game, it requires the monster to reach level 12 with 62 HP, 68 attack and 72 agility. It is naturally learned by many different monsters, including Archdemon, BoneSlave, Durran, LandOwl, MadGopher, Orc, and Skeletor.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2

Etymology

Its Japanese name, Tsubame Gaeshi (roughly translated as "Swallow Counter" or "Swallow Reversal"), is a reference to a sword technique invented by legendary Japanese swordsman Sasaki Kojirō. The name of this technique was also later given to a Judo throw.
