"Prepare yourselves to be sealed in this void forever!"

—Cabot, before engaging the party (DS, cell phone)

Cabot is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series that appears as a boss encounter in Dragon Quest VI alongside Belleau.

He has gone on to make regular appearances in spinoff games in the series, always alongside Belleau.

Characteristics[edit]

This turmoil loving troll smashes and bashes his way through life, forgoing all battle tactics for simple brute strength. Although his Stomp can deal tremendous damage when alongside his ability to Muster Strength, he would be little more than a trifling annoyance without the aid of his solid ally, Belleau. In the original Super Famicom version of the game, Cabot had copper-colored skin with red lips and wore an orange-colored tunic. However, starting with the Nintendo DS version, his skin became dark green and he had a purple tongue and lips, donning a lighter brown garment, making his coloration similar to that of a Terror troll. In some spinoff games, such as Stars and Tact, Cabot returned to his original color scheme.

Cabot and Belleau are the tormentors of the Supreme Sage Isaac, inflitrating his mind and demanding that he swear allegiance to the Archfiend. After he refuses, they conjure up a scene of his fellow Supreme Sage and brother Benjamin being executed by a guillotine, stating that only his full cooperation will save his blood kin. Once the Hero and his party witness Isaac's suffering, they return to Gallows Moor to escort Benjamin to his chained brother in the Prison of Sorrow. Benjamin is able to transport himself and the party inside Isaac's conscience, convincing him that Cabot and Belleau's illusions are fake just before his resolve falters. The duo then engage the party in combat, and upon being defeated Isaac's mind is finally put to rest. The reunited Supreme Sages combine their power to destroy the mountain from where Mortamor's Dreadlair resides on, allowing the party to inflitrate the Archfiend's domain.
