Breathtaking Bash is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in the Joker series of games. It delivers an attack that can prevent enemies from using breath-based attacks.

Dragon Quest X[edit]
Breathtaking Bash can be learned by Monster Wranglers by investing 40 skill points into their Monster Master skill. It costs 3 MP to use and deals 1.2 times more damage than a normal attack. Starting with Version 2.3 of the game, its success rate was changed to depend on the user's Deftness.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker[edit]
Breathtaking Bash cost 4 MP to use. The user attacks, and the target is prevented from using breath attacks. It can be learned from:
- Anti-dragon (38 points)
- Diminisher (50 points)
- Icemeister (34 points)
- Seal (20 points)
- Trickster (55 points)
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2[edit]
Breathtaking Bash can be learned from all the skills it could be previously, though Seal now requires only 5 points.
Dragon Quest Tact[edit]
Breathtaking Bash can be learned by Bulldozer at level 24 and costs 28 MP to use. It inflicts 195% potency physical damage to a single enemy and has a chance to lock away their breath moves shortly.
