Needle Shot is a recurring ability in the franchise. It fires a needle-thin projectile that has a chance to hit the enemy in the soft spot (killing them instantly). Otherwise, the arrow will inflict 1 damage.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest VIII[edit]

Angelo can use Needle Shot as a bow technique after allocating 25 skill points into the associated skill. Once he masters the skill tree by allocating 100 points, it is replaced by Needle Rain (which launches 3~4 arrows). Both cost 1 MP to use, and have an instant death rate of 1/16th.

Dragon Quest IX[edit]

This ability is learned with 35 skill points allocated into Bow skill and costs 1 MP to use. The skills is more efficient than in VIII, having a 1/8 chance to kill targets.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End[edit]

Needle Shot is learned by Angelo once again.

Dragon Quest Treasures[edit]

Learned by Killing machines, they charge up energy and shoots out a powerful arrow that damages one enemy.
