Golden Oldies is an ability that can be learned by Yangus. When used, he will shout, "Grandad!" loudly to summon King Trode, interrupting him in the middle of enjoying some canned food. Trode will then appear with an army of geezers of all types, from thugs to merchants, in order to bum rush any enemies.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]

Golden Oldies can be learned by allocating 100 skill points into Yangus's Humanity skill. It targets all enemies and can attack four times randomly, dealing damage equal to 1.2 times Yangus's current level.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End[edit]

"You've done and done it now!"

Golden Oldies appears as Torneko's Coup de Grâce when he is in High Tension mode. He blows a tune from a trumpet that calls in a bunch of Toughies and after he blows a big note, they charge through him and the enemies in front of them.

Etymology[edit]

A golden oldie is an old song or movie that is still well-known or popular.

Trivia[edit]

  • In the Japanese version, Yangus will shout, "Ossan!", an informal slang word for referring to older men.
